dotnet academic:
Installed a wireless mouse, then noticed when I try to sign on to Yahoo mail,
my password automatically sends a series of "0"'s across the password screen.
Took off the mouse, and problem seemed corrected. Returning from vacation
(and a power outage) same problem. Seems that after about 4 hours of messing
with the computer, it was back to normal. Experienced the same thing when
resarting computer. Experimented with Microsoft Word, and when bringing up
the program, it began to type zeros across the page, line by line. Have
determined that shutting down of computer triggers this problem, but then
self corrects after a few hours. What gives??

Impossible to tell from what you've provided, but it sounds like the
wireless mouse is unreliable.
Are you also using a wireless keyboard? Mice can't type.
Are you, by any chance, using a KVM? I ask because most wireless mice and
keyboards do not work reliably through a KVM.

You mention virus in your article title. Can we assume that you've
completely scanned you computer with a fully-updated, competent anti-virus
program and that you've also scanned with a good anti-malware product?

This question would be better addressed in a Windows group, but you don't
mention what OS, you're using, so I can't suggest any specific group.

Have you contacted the mouse manufacturer for support or tried updated
drivers?
