Hi everyone. I had Norton Security 2007 on my last computer and reinstalled
it on my new one (with Vista). To my disappointment Norton has told me that I
have to purchase another key as the one I have can not be used. This is due
to the fact that I have used it 5 times. I tried to explain that I had
computer problems (hence the reason for purchasing a new one) and that is why
I have used the key 5 times. I also loaded it on my laptop onece. Anyway, I
still have over 200 days left on my current key and am really upset over
having to pay again! Anyone have any ideas or suggestions. Norton will not
budge with allowing me to use the key one more time. So I figure if I have to
pay again is there a better Anti Virus program to purchase? Thank you for all
your help!

How about getting good anti-virus and anti-malware software and *not*
paying? There are perfectly good products available free for home use.
Google them! (not intended to be an exhaustive list)

Anti-virus

AVG (free.grisoft.com)
Avast

Anti-malware

Spybot Search and Destroy
Adaware
Super Anti-Spyware

Oh, and be sure to let Norton know that they've lost you as a customer.

I use AVG on all my PC's except for the Vista box, where I use Avast
(because there was no AVG version for Vista last November). I have had no
problems with either product. They both auto-update.
For malware, I use a combination of the three I listed. It seems to be
conventional wisdom that no one anti-malware product will cover you
completely, but the three I listed have kept me safe.
