Windows XP home SP 2 latest updates.
The above error started to appear after I received a free symantec offer to
update to NIS2008 from NIS2007. I tried to update and it failed, I then had
to clean out NIS using the symantec tool. As I was already fed up with NIS I
installed Kaspersky 7.0

I have tried virus checks and Tune up utilities maintenance. SOmetimes after
a reboot the message does not appear, but after a full closedown it does
appear at logon screen. It does seem to be benign, but if I press either OK
or Cancel it reboots the computer.

Its a pain in the neck. I have tried searching the internet for advice, but
until now don't seem to have found anything that I really trust.
