I have schedulled a ppt presentation to show at logon time. But instead of
starting the show it opens the .ppsx file .

On my first try I filled the field Action/Start a Program/ with the path of
the .ppsx file.
On the second try I filled the field Action/Start a Program/ with the path
of PowerPoint and the field Add an Argument with the path of the .ppsx file.

None worked. Using Vista Ultimate with Office 2007.

Thanks for any clues,

First, you need to find a news group for PowerPoint or Office 2007. This is
a .NET programming group.

Here's how to locate an appropriate group through the web interface:

To find the group you need:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?guid=1080912A-26C5-7040-AFDD-2224A4FEB3EA

Select your language from the Tree View on the left, then scroll down to
Office and Desktop Applications. In the Office and Desktop Applications,
open the category for PowerPoint.
There, select an appropriate group to post your question.
