Office XP PIA -- dotnet interop

Hi,

I can't get the interop for Excel to work: I've installed the PIAs and
reinstalled, removed office 2K and reinstalled, but to no avail.
Every time I add a reference to Excel in my project, the path shows
that the gac version isn't being used.

Any ideas on where I go from here?

Stupid question probably. Do they show up correctly in the GAC at all?

First time I installed them I ran register.bat from the Windows command
prompt not from the VS Command prompt and they didn't actually register.
