dotnet remoting:
Hi all,

I have developed an analog clock using C#.NET as an assembly in my .NET
application. The clock is based on the System.Threading.Timer class, rather
than the other two timers. I find that the clock runs a lot slower on an
AMD machine compared to an Intel CPU machine, regardless of the CPU speed.

I have looked up the Microsoft site on .NET and they only mention that the
1.1 framework is only to be installed on the 3 AMD cpu's Opteron, Athlon64,
and Athlon XP processors. But they do not go into detail as to why not on
the other AMD cpu's.

Has anyone come across a problem with AMD cpu's and .NET before?

with regards
James

Ok, I have found that it is not a cpu problem as I have another box with an
AMD Duron XP 1000MHz(5x200) which runs at the correct speed.

I have tried it on another computer (an intel celeron 4A, 2400MHz(6x400) and
it runs slow. ) There doesn't seem to be any link between the CPU and the
slow clock problem.

I thought now maynbe it could be a video card problem, but can't see any
problems out there of this kind.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what might be causing my analog clock
program to run slow?

cheers

James
