Is IIS required for secure channel? SteveR

dotnet remoting:
I've written a .net remoting app that works OK on most machines but recently
I found one that has a problem. This machine is the server in my app, the
exception I receive is 'A remote side security requirement wasn't
fullfilled...'. I've compared this machine to all the others and the only
difference I can see is that IIS isn't installed on it. Is IIS a requirement
to establish and encrypted channel? The machine OS is Windows XP embedded so
there might be other required components that are missing but can someone
tell me what they are.

..NET 2.0 also supports encryption on the TCP and HTTP channels. Not sure
about IPC (since that's local to the machine anyways).
