Good news

Dmitry Belikov is indeed alive and well and working at Microsoft.

He says he will talk to his old colleagues and supply an answer " in the
middle of the next week".

Cheers

Thank you, John!

In short, I left the team and joined Microsoft.

The team still supports customers. They have about 8-10 tickets resolved
every day. We had our serialization engine ready, which was about 10 times
faster than .NET Framework serialization and we were about to release a
product that would unite compact framework, .NET framework and IE-hosted
controls through .NET Remoting-like infrastructure. On .NET Framework it was
..NET Remoting, on all other platforms (CE and inside IE where you don't have
permission to use reflection) we mimicked .NET Remoting 1:1.

With the release of WCF, announcement of silverlight and lost of several
members of the team, things went in an unpredictable way and that led to
changes in priorities. I was assured that Genuine Channels is still among the
favorits and the laboratory is willing to continue development in that
direction.

They're probably about to regain the previous pace and continue with
constant releases. Though the exact strategy is still uncertain at this
point. Presumably, we can look forward to release of bidirectional channels
for WCF and 3-rd party serialization layer for all platforms.

As for the temporary unavailability of the server, I was told that right now
everything is in place and works.

If you have any questions, you can direct them at support@genuinechannels.com!

Best regards,
Dmitry
Re: Anyone knows what has happened to Genuine Channels? NAT with WCF Joel

But Genuinne Channels solved the problem with NAT.
What about some code to implement the same in WCF. I read about Biztalk
Services and relay, but in remoting things were simpler.

Does any body implement WCF with a Firewall with NAT configuration?

Thanks in advance

Joel
