dotnet sdk: This is more of a bother than a problem, but why do some of my recent
projects show up in "Recent Projects", and others do not. In particular, I
have a website which never shows up in the list, yet when I select Open:
Website..., it defaults to the proper one.

Also, some of the 10 items are ones which no longer exist, or are ones I

Hi,

The web site project model doesn't use the standard one that other VS2005
projects use, that's why it's not listed in the Recent Projects list.

The recent projects are saved in registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\ProjectMRUList (see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919486 for more info). It's a known issue
that when multiple instances of VS2005 are running at the same time, the
settings sometimes gets overwritten by each other when they exits.

You can try to use the KB's description to manually edit the files.

Hope this helps.

Interestingly, some of my Web projects show up, but others don't. I will look
at the KB article.

Thanks

Hi,

I should clarify that a "Web Site" doesn't have a project file like other
project file such as ".csproj". However, the solution file that includes a
"Web Site" project should still save itself in the Recent file list.

I think you behavior you're experiencing is probably due to there're
multiple VS2005 instances running and the Recent file list isn't correctly
updated when they close. Also, sometimes if an instance crashed, the recent
file list is probably not updated too.

Anyway, please refer to the KB on how to manually clean/edit the recent
file list.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help. Thanks.
