Installed Visual Studio to Server. Version 7.1.3088. MS .NET Version 1.1.4322.
Basically attempt to open "ASP.NET Web Application" using menu bar command, i.e., File | New | Project...

Get the following message: "The web server reported the following error when attempting to open the web project located at http://Alydar/Web Applications/DESTINY". HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request.

Hi

I got the same error at job and i found the solution, it is due to
proxy setting in my browser (IE6)

Pull down on the Tools menu and choose Internet Options
Click on the Connections tab
Click on LAN Settings
In the section on Automatic Configuration:
automatically detect setting (checked)
use automatic script (not checked)

On proxy server section:
Use a proxy server for your LAN (checked)
"Enter the address of your proxy" and port, i have port 8080
Bypass proxy server for local adresses (checked)

Click Advanced button
In the Servers section
HTTP: (adress of your proxy) and port 8080
The other are greyed

Use the same proxy server for all protocols (checked)

That all, good luck !
