dotnet web services : Create Project on Remote Web Server

I'm trying to create a new web service project on a remote (although
still within network) IIS 6.0 web server. I tried to use the Windows
share name, but the wizard failed to create the site with error "The UNC
share does not exist or you do not have access". I _do_ have *complete*
access to the UNC path and the name _is_ valid.

Can this be done? If so, what do I need to do? I cannot install a web
server on my desktop.

Thank you,

Does the lack of responses suggest that it can't be done or that I'm in
the wrong place? Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
