Can't you just show the other form using the Show() method (as opposed to
ShowDialog())? Maybe make it a topmost form if it needs to stay in front
of the main window. This will give you the behaviour commonly associated
with Find dialogs, for instance.

Multiple Forms Help clsmith66

I am hoping someone can help me. Is there any way to get a form to act like
a cross between a mdi child from and a dialog box? I need to be able to
display the results of a users search from a main form into another "popup"
form and still be able to interact with the main form. If I display the
results form as a dialog box, I can't get at the underlying form, and due to
the contstraints placed on the application I am unable to create a true mdi
area on the main form. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be
greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your suggestion. I had already tried this, but when I click on
the main form, the results form does not stay on top. I can get it back on
top through code, but there is a "hicup" where you can see the results form
move to the bottom and then back on top again. I was hoping there was a way
to alway keep the results form on top but it does not seem to be working for
me.

Did you try setting the form's TopMost property to True? It definitely
works for me.
