dotnet general:
Dear Sir/Mdm,
I am writing this on behalf of my company. We bought the Visual Studio .NET Enterprise version but currently we need to use Visual Basic 6 for a small development. We are not able to purchase it anymore, anywhere we know. Therefore, I would like to know whether is VB 6 still available in the market? If not, is there any way we can 'downgrade' our license to VB 6 for a just short period of time, about 2 months. What other alternatives can we do, as we don't intend to spend too much time in changing the codes to .Net currently. We really have no other choice but to use VB 6 for the development of a program.
I tried to use the online help, but in vain. I can't get through after I entered the product ID though its 100% genuine. I then tried to send an inquiry to Microsoft but after clicking the 'Summit Message' button, an error occurs. Hope you can understand and looking forward to some replies soon.

Thanks in advance,

you're not alone - have a look in comp.lang.basic.visual.misc and you will
find plenty of active developers using VB6. Last year I started a brand new
project in VB6 because it was a small windows app designed to be downloaded
off the net and I didn't want to force people to install the .net framework.

I bought my copy of VB6 off ebay. From what I can tell this is a legitimate
way to acquire a licence but I can't guarantee it. make sure you don't buy
the learning edition because I beleive it is crippled.

Also, MS have a downgrade program which allows you to buy visual studio .net
and then downgrade to a previous version - see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/previous/downgrade.aspx

finally, if you join the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) you can get
visual basic 6 included in that.

if all else fails, ask in comp.lang.basic.visual.misc

Andy
