Yes, I was stupid not to put files on disk, and or realize that my version
was a trial. Somehow I didn't read the fine print. I saved many files on my
trial version of Microsoft Work Word Processor. When I try to access them I
get error message wkswp.exe application error The application failed to
initialize properly (0xc0000142) click on ok to terminate the application.
I realize I need to buy another perm. version. I just want to know if I do
will I then be able to access saved files or are they lost forever. Please
in layman terms, I am by no means an experienced computer person. I would

It's Obvisous !! that once your trail version get expired then the
only way to get access to it is to download permision version to it or
by search on your computer with the particular file wich had been
lost.
according to me if you search on your computer by using search
function u will get the results

I'm suprised that you are not getting a message telling you that the
software has expired, rather than this error message, however if it is
simply a case of the trial version having expired then you should have no
problem accessing your files, once you have installed a working version of
Works.
As a test, if you know anyone that HAS got a working copy, you could copy
one of the files onto a disk, and try opening it on their computer...

To repeat what someone else said, you will probably get a better response if
you ask this question in a better suited NewsGroup (a Works one ideally)
