dotnet general : Networking computers

My desktop can see the laptop and all its files but when I try to map the
network drive from the laptop, it says it can not see it and is unaccessible.

You need to post to the correct newsgroup/forum, like
MS.public.windows.xp.general. The one you're posting to now is a dotnet
programmer's NG.
