Hi Dave,

As for WCF samples, there are many locations for you to download them:

#Windows SDK .NET Framework 3.0 Samples
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=22b58b6c-8f98-40d0-
880d-c3339c5da01e&displaylang=en

#Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows CardSpace Samples
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0043041F-95D6-4EB7-
966A-C21A737E193A&displaylang=en

http://netfx3.com/files/

Also, for WCF, it can help provide distributed communication between two
applications on the same machine or different machine or even over
internet. You can look into any of the samples for general code and
configuration style of WCF application.

In addition, I suggest you read some general articles about WCF background
and overall architecture which should be helpful:

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at

Does anyone have sample VB.NET code using WCF to communicate between two
running apps on the same machine? I have no experience with WCF and a very,
very simple example would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Here's a straight forward example...albeit in c#.

If you do a translation, send it to me, and I'll post it.
