They are attaching documentation to the database in the form of PDFs. They
work with fundraisers and they need to attach things like bio profiles, gift
agreements, wills, etc. to data records. The vendor is telling them that not
only can we not attach PDFs in the web-based version, but wthey can't even
read PDFs that they attached in the Citrix version of the program. Attaching
Word files is unacceptable as they need static documents.

What exactly do you mean by attaching documentation to a database?
Surely it would be sufficient to record the location of the pdf in the
database, and then the front-end would take care of presenting the file at
that location to the end-user, or am I missing something?
