vb.net controls: Is there a .Net newsgroup comparable to m.p.vb.3rdparty dealing with
third-party (ie non-MS) controls, both commercial and
shareware/freeware? Or would this be the place to ask about such
controls?

AFAIK there is no such group. I would ask in the most appropriate
group, for example, the Windows Forms group if you are asking for
Windows Forms controls.
