CAPICOM leverages underlying capi, and AES is supported starting with
XP OS.

Hello,

I am trying to encrypt a message using the CAPICOM and I want use the
CAPICOM_ENCRYPTION_ALGORITHM_AES value in the Algorithm.name field.

The latest version that is available in Microsoft download center
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/) is cc21inst.exe and it doesn't
support this algorithm.

Can someone please tell me how can I get the CAPICOM version which
supports the AES algorithm?

Thanks in advanced

Hi,

Thanks for your answer but in the MSDN from January 2004 it says that
the requirements are:
Redistributable: Requires CAPICOM 1.0 or later on Windows Server 2003,
Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows Me, and Windows 98;
CAPICOM 1.0 on Windows 95.

I have Windows 2000 and capicom version 2.1.0.1 which supposed to
support it.
Are you sure it works under XP?
