dotnet distributed apps:

I see from the system requirements (for the Updater Application Block
for .NET)that you need the .net framework version 1.1. Does that
include the client and the server? I have 1.1 on my server, but I have
1.0 on the client PCs. If you need 1.1 on the client PCs as well, can
you recommend something else ?

You need 1.1 on the client. There isn't really a server component. The
server simply is a repository for the files that update the clients.
