Hi,
I have a client (University) who is concerned about rolling out the .net
framework 1.1 across machines on the university campus. If I give their
concerns perhaps someone may be able to help (comment on them).

(1) Apparently (not known to me) there are side-effects for other
applications using macros and VBA.
(2) The rollout would exclude Mac and Linux PCs on campus.

There is no .NET for Mac if that is what you are talking about
(of course you could use Rotor, but that only gives you the
most basic infraestructure)
As for Linux... you can use Mono... must of the
missing functionality is in the WindowsForms side... if you
are doing only ASP.NET 1.x, then it could be a good option
