visual studio .net debugging: I want to start debugging an application on a PocketPC 2003. I launch it
(F5) and choose PocketPC as device. I get to this point:

but then VS just keeps on flashing the connection icon on the statusbar, no
progress... I can't close VS because you need to stop debugging first, but I
can't stop the debugging, and it won't time out either. What to do? What I
have to do is terminate the process in Application Manager, is this a
reasonable solution?

It can happen to a very simple project or a very large and complex one.
Usually if I launch it directly after I terminate the previous debug session
or start a session for the first time. I can interact with VS, i.e. add
controls, edit properties but I can't stop the debug session or exit the
program.

This has happend enough times for me to post here, which mean too many
times...

I am connecting over TCP/IP LAN, ActiveSync connection is ok during the
entire process...

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Are you sure the connection is okay in VS.NET?
Though the ActiveSync connection is correct, there may be something error
in the connection between VS.NET and your device. Please use Tools->Connect
to device... to check your device connection first.
If the device connection can not be established, please install the
"Windows CE Utilities for Visual Studio .NET 2003 Add-on Pack 1.1" first.

Hi Jimmy!

Thanks for your reply. Since this only happens now and then, it is hard to
predict when to test for connectivity, and when it has happend I don't think
I will be able to do it since it is in debug mode... I will try it when I
experience it the next time.
