visual studio .net documentation: Hi

Can anyone please help me. I tried to open a smart device application and I
got this error "Application for project type (.VBDPROJ) is not installed. I
installed Visual Studio .NET Professional on my system. When I try to create
new smart device application at New Project, smart device application does
not appear there. Please help.

Hi Robin,

It sounds to me like you don't have "Smart Device Programmability"
installed with your Visual Studio .NET. Smart Device Programmability was
added in Visual Studio .NET 2003, and is not supported in previous versions.

To install Smart Device Programmabililty (assuming VS .NET is already
installed):
1. Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
2. Navigate to Visual Studio .NET 2003 and click Change/Remove.
3. On the main setup screen, click Step 2 (Visual Studio .NET).
4. Click Add or Remove Features. This will bring you to a tree with
different features checked and unchecked.
5. Under Visual Studio .NET Professional -> Language Tools -> Visual Basic
NET, you should see "Smart Device Programmability". Check that box, and
the same box under Visual C# .NET (if you want C# smart device
programmability as well).
6. Click Update Now.

If this doesn't work for you, let me know, and I can investigate your
problem further.
