Annoying MSI Installer dialogs after installation of MSDN Eric Muzzy

visual studio .net documentation:
I'm using the july 2003 MSDN within VS.NET Enterprise
Architect. Quite often Windows Installer pops up and
wants to do an installation. However, I've installed
almost a Complete install -- and what I didn't never has
any bearing on the content I'm trying to view. Based on
Microsoft's Best Practices I'm not running with the admin
account (I use the runas cmd).

Here's the messages that pop up. Ultimately, if I let it
run it's course (well over a minute) the content will
show up. I can also cancel out of a few dialog boxes and
the content shows up too.

Preparing to install ...

Enterprise Architect 2003 - English
Error 1606: Could not access network location wwwroot$:
Unable to get security info for this object.
Error 1606. Could not access network location VS
Developers (could not create group)

What's annoying is having to go through this about 50% of
the time.
The readme mentions something about custom installs and
the necessity of including a few MSDN documention
packages as part of the custom install. Unfortunately,
the sentence is not grammatically correct and the items
it wants installed are not in the choices!

Perhaps related, or not. I noticed in the window
Application Event Log the following entry which occurs at
regular intervals? But this may be related to OfficeXP.
I'm using Office2003 Beta.

Detection of product '{E05F0409-0E9A-48A1-AC04-
E35E3033604A}', feature 'dotNET_Framework_SDK',
component '{C9AF9050-C8BE-11D1-9C67-0000F81F1B38}'
failed. The
resource 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0
\Common\UserData' does not exist.

Hi,

First, make sure your wwwroot folder is shared as wwwroot$. Then, try
repairing VS .NET 2003. The installer dialog usually occurs if some files
or reg keys are missing.

Best regards,
Bradley Jiang
