Yes, Anders, this is possible to do.
The MSDN Readme.htm file discusses how to do it. Look for "Administrative
Install" in that file for the instructions. In simple terms, what you will
do is install the Library on a server, then each lab computer should run the
setup program for MSDN from that network location. There is a setup option
that allows the documentation to be stored on the network (this option is
called "Run From Source", I believe), thus saving lots of space on your lab
computer hard drives. Please note that some files will still be copied to
the lab computer hard drives as part of this installation. But the local
files will only amount to about 400 MB instead of 1,7 Gb.
The English readme.htm file is installed by default in \Program
Files\MSDN\2003Oct\1033. If you're using a different language, the path will
be similar. The four-digit numeric code corresponds to a specific language.

VS.Net installed locally, but without the MSDN Library. The reason why we
haven't installed MSDN Library on every client is that the MSDN Library is
about 1,7 Gb and that's not possible to install due to distributing issues
among other things. The thing we want to do is to install the MSDN Library
on a server and then "link" all of the clients to this "MSDN Library
Server". Hopefully this is possible, but I guess there might be both
technical and perhaps some legal issues ?
