visual studio .net documentation:
Dear Sirs:

I've reinstalled windows xp in my dev machine, from scratch. After Win XP
is ok, i've reinstalled visual studio .net and msdn help, but, all work fine
except msdn.

I've tried to uninstall, reinstall, and repair msdn but nothing work. I
think that
the problem is that the original folders (because was created before the
reinstallation) were there when i've installed msdn again, and this confuse
to
the msdn installer.

When i click msdn (or use F1 in visual studio), dexplore show empties
windows and, in the main window, it shows my default internet explorer page.
No reference to help collections in any place.

Please, help me. Thaks in advance.

Federico

I'm seeing exactly the same problem. I've installed the April 2005 MSDN Library and all I get is my Internet Explorer home page.

I've been doing this on a variety of freshly installed vmware images, so I can deny Federico's hunch that the msdn installer is being confused by previous installs. No previous installs in my case. I tried different vmware images, some WinXP SP1, some WinXP SP2, some with all the latest & greatest IE6 patches - all the same. It's not a conflict with some other SW - the images I used are as clean and virginal as they come...

I've repaired my installation!!:

1) Uninstall MSDN
2) Remove folder c:\documents and settins\allusers.windows\application
data\microsoft help
3) Remove folder c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\help
3) Delete from registry all sections that contains hxvz.dll
4) Delete from registry all sections that contains hxds.dll
3) Reinstall MSDN
