visual studio .net documentation : Failed Links in Help

Most of the links in Help for VS 2005 are dead in my instalation of VS 2005
Pro. I can usually find the item of interest using search, but this is veery
annoying and time consuming. For instance on the page "Data Access (How Do I
in C#)" only six of the links work. On these the cursor changes to a hand
and clicking the link moves the browser to the indicated page. On all the
others the cursor looks like a large capital I and clicking results in no
action.

Is there a setting which I have misset or is this a problem with the
documentation itself?

I would reinstall the documentation as a first option to solve this.

I have reinstalled twice. I currently have the December version of VS2005
MSDN Library installed. The version shipped with VS 2005 exhibited an
identical behavior, although I do not know if the same items were dead.

I have selected the 'Try local first ,then online' option. The 'Try online
first, then local' option gives the same result. All the option boxes in all
three help option categories are checked.

Hi Arlyn_L,
Thanks for Carsten's reply.

I agree with Carsten. This issue seems strange. Under my experience, I
think reinstalling is the simplest way to resolve such strange issue.

Please let me know if you still have any issue after reinstalling. I'm glad
to assist you.
Sincerely,
Wen Yuan

Hi Arlyn_L,
Thanks for your reply.

I'm sorry to hear reinstalling still cannot resolve you issue. However, as
far as I know, Document Explorer using Internet Explorer to browse the page
on internet. Have you tried to copy the link into your IE address? I'm
afraid this is also an issue related to IE. If you have the same issue
using IE, apparently, this is an IE issue. We suggest you may reinstall IE
to resolved such issue. Otherwise, could you please send me a screen-shot,
after that I will sent mail to our product team and check whether they have
any suggestion on such issue.
My alias is v-wywang@microsoft.com.

I'm apologize for any inconvenient this has caused.
Sincerely,
