I just ran the sample EIF application which comes with EIF . I'm not able to see entries in Eventlog or windows trace logs.
I just build the sample apllication , Run Installtil which generated EIF.config, modified tracesession.log and enabled to true.

Can you send:
- details on which sample you are running
- paste into the reply a copy of the EI.config file your running

That will help me figure out why its not working for you.

If the EI.config is configured to output the event, then any other errors
with outputing instrumentation can appear in the following ways:
- There are EIF perf counters (run perf mon and look under the perf counter
categories EventSinks, EventSources) that display the errors encountered in
raising events.
- If you change the <eventSource> internalExceptionHandler="report" then
any errors encountering with that event source will also be surfaced as
errors in the Windows Event Log (Application log). For more details on the
values that internalExceptionHandler can be set to see the
EnterpriseInstrumentation.chm that's installed to the Doc(?) directory.
