EIF installutil error: Error dispatching

visual studio .net enterprise tools: I tried to run the Simple Instrumentation example by running "installutil
SimpleInstrumentation.exe" but the response was:

Error dispatching command/test named 'SimpleInstrumentation.exe'

No .Config file is created...I get the same result trying installutil on the
other samples. The installation of EIF went flawlessly and the event log
indicates success.
Environment: Win2K SP4, VS .Net 2003, .Net Framework 1.1; Framework 1.0
files are in the Winnt\.Net directory, but I'm not sure if they are
registered...

The Event log says the Windows Trace Session is started and the
"configuration was successful" under the "Windows Trace Session Manager".

The mystery is solved...there was another "installutil" exe in my path that
was being executed instead of the EIF. Everything is working fine. It
would be helpful if the documentation would tell you the installutil.exe is
placed in the Framework's root...
