visual studio .net enterprise tools : EIF - Any Event Notification Available when EnterpriseInstrumentation.Config file changes?

All:

Is there any public file-change event that EIF makes available to notify
event subscribers when the configuration file contents (e.g.
EnterpriseInstrumentation.Config) has changed? I realize that internally
EIF listens for configuration file changes and updates its configuration
accordingly, but I was wondering in EIF makes this information to a client
(e.g. an EIF Event).

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks for the response. I searched the discussion thread you provided but,
unless I missed it, the thread didn't address my question.

I realize that EIF puts a file watcher on the configuration file. However,
it appears EIF doesn't in turn provide an interface for an EIF client (e.g.
an EIF event) to subscribe to this watcher. Unless, I'm mistaken, If the
EIF client *also* wants to be informed when the EIF configuration file has
changed, this client will need to apply a a separate file watcher to that
same configuration file.

Is my understanding correct?

Thanks Again,
Bill

Hello Bill,

Thanks for your prompt response. You understanding is correct that you will
need to use a filewatcher on the same configuration file.

In addition, you can use using Mike Woodring's nice little extension class
to read the .config file:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the clarification (and the pointer to Mike's utility). Much
appreciated.
