visual studio .net enterprise tools : Error During Team Foundation Server Setup

Hello,

I am attempting to install Team Foundation Server. During the system health
check everything is passing without error.

I am getting stuck with this error:

Error 32000. The Commandline '"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Web Server Extensions\60\Bin\Stsadm.exe" ...' returned non-zero value:
-1.

I have searched and found articles stating to run the command:

stsadm.exe -o addpath -url http://localhost/Reports -type exclusion
&
stsadm.exe -o addpath -url http://localhost/ReportServer -type exclusion

however this returns the following:
The virtual server that is referenced here is not in the config database.

Does anyone know the solutions to getting by this?

I have tried uninstalling sps, iis, etc.... and starting from iis again, but
keep getting this error.

I do not have Frontpage extensions installed, and everything other than this
seems to be by the book.

Thanks!

BKP

I hit a similar problem.... With me it was really down to the fact that I
had installed TFS, screwed it up by trying to move it to another server,
uninstalled TFS and STS, then tried to re-install it.

Unfortunately, the only way I could fix it was by rebuilding the server! I
think the problem might be related to the config database (STS_Config_Tfs).
You should be able to create a new one through the sharepoint central admin
(Configure Virtual Server Settings -> Default Web Site -> Manage Content
Databases), but when I tried to do this I kept getting stuck in a loop where
it always told me that the new database I was trying to create already
existed so I was unable to create a new one. I tried deleting all the sts
and tfs databases but it still seemed to remember that I had previously
installed it so I couldn't get past this point.

I have been working on it for weeks trying to be able to move it from one
server to another and have only just managed it after working out what all
the errors are in the MS docs.

Thanks for the reply Will... I hope I don't have to start from scratch on
this one though.

I'm sure it is just a minor config issue... Has anyone else had this
problem and found a resolution that did not involve starting from square one?

I suppouse you installed all the prerrequisites and followed the latest
version of installation guide, are you installing on server farm or stand

Hello yes, thank you for your reply.. Sorry I haven't updated this problem.

I went ahead and started from scratch because I did realize even though I
uninstalled frontpage extensions they were still causing problems.

After I got the system back up I followed the procedure and now have a
working install of TFS.

Thanks!
