Hotfix for .NET Framework 1.1
Posted by Andrew Jenssen at 10/28/2005 4:13:22 PM
Visual Studio.NET 2003 came with Framework 1.1 on the installation
CD. There is a "hotfix" out for Framework 1.1 . If this hotfix is installed,
would it interfere with Visual Studio or the running of apps built with
Framework 1.1 that didn't have the hotfix?

VS 2005 questions
Posted by Ken at 10/28/2005 11:03:03 AM
Our clients are government agencies with several million users. They use
Framework 1.1 and SQL Server 2000. That cannot be changed. Microsoft
envisions an abrupt upgrade of 1.1 to 2.0, SQL Server 2000 to 2005, and VS
2003 to 2005 all in the same day. However, that is not possible in the real

Just-in-Time "compiler"
Posted by Andrew Jenssen at 10/27/2005 12:49:32 AM
In these Visual Studio newsgroups, is the standard
terminology to refer to the "build" process as "compilation"?
If so, what does the Just-in-Time Compiler do at runtime?
Is it to assemble the MSIL code? If so, why isn't it called a
Just-in-Time Assembler?

How to - Rename a solution (project) and all associated files/folders

Hi,
I was wondering how someone could rename a solution (project) and all

the only chance to give a proper name to a project... If we find a
better name later, it seems impossible to rename the whole shebang!
