visual studio .net general:
Hello,

I've just started using VS.net 2003 running under XP Pro SP2.

All was ok at first but I'm now getting the message 'Unable to start
debugging. No such interface supported' when I try to run any project. They
are simple projects in order to learn VS and Visual C++. They are dialogue
based MFC projects.

It's obviously something I've done but I can't thing what it could be.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the link but I've already tried all of the recommendations on the
Google group threads. None have worked.

Since posting my first question I've installed VS on two other machines, one
XP SP2 and one XP SP1. VS works fine on both of them. So it must be something
that's happened on my machine over the past few weeks. (I hadn't used VS for
a few weeks).

I've now uninstalled all systems type utilities that may be conflicting with
the debugging featurs of VS. I also re-registered all the dlls and a few .exe
files that have been suggested on numerous threads on various forums. All to
no avail.

As I have little hair left to pull out, and to save what's left of my
sanity, I shall try one more uninstall/re-install of VS, if that doesn't work
then I'll have to reformat and re-install everything on the PC from scratch.

From the very large number of threads on this topic it is obviously a wide
spread problem. Please Microsoft come up with a definitive fix.

Any further suggestions would be very welcome, I'll try anything to get VS
working again without having to revuild the machine.

Many thanks
Rod
