I'd love to download the new beta of VS 2005, but I can't risk losing any
compatibility with Biztalk Server 2004. Is there a detailed discussion
somewhere of this topic, including installation steps (I also have SQL Server
2000 SP 3a and SharePoint Server running on my box) and specific issues that

I received the following response to this question via email from Scott
Woodgate of Microsoft:

Its completely un-supported and as such there are no official instructions
nor have we done any "real" testing.

Unofficially there are some app.config in a batch file that ensure BizTalk
uses the 1.1 version of the .NET FW when 2.0 is installed. I actually
haven't tried the sharepoint scenario but sharepoint running under ASP.NET
2.0 is also not supported and is more likely to just plain old not work.

So the net is although I have it running on my laptop so "it works" I find a
few interesting issues and I won't recommend it if you are trying to do real
work on the BizTalk Server 2004 installation.

BizTalk Server 2006 will 100% support the .NET FW 2.0 (it will be built on
it) and it will release 90-120 days (target) post Whidbey/Yukon.
