Hello All,
I'm currently working on writing a compiler for a language for .NET
Framework. I would like to make Visual Studio it's integrated
development environment by adding the apropriate sytnax coloring,
creating projects/solutions, compiling, debugging. My question is,
which online documents or books should I consult that would tell me how
to do that? I assume what I need to be looking for is how to write
plug-ins for Visual Studio 2005; I tried looking on google but couldn't
find any. Could anyone point me to the right book/online tutorial? What
I intend on doing is exactly as what Visual Python and Visual Perl did.

Thanks,

Hi Ludwig,

The greatest information source for resources about add-in development in on
my web site (below), the section "For add-in developers".

Regarding your specific question, you don´t need an add-in but the VSIP / VS
2005 SDK to create a package, and there are no books about the subject. So:

- Register for VSIP/VS 2005 SDK, download the SDK and read the docs
- Visit the blogs of the VSIP people to get you started.
