visual studio .net general: Hello,
I have Visual Studio .NET. I wanted to use a graphical diff for
comparing two files. I tried downloading and installing ExamDiff. Its a
nice program. I opened two XML files (each about 12 - 20 KB in size)
for comparison. After scrolling through some differences, the machine
just hung. Mouse pointer also stopped moving. No task manager nothing.
Had to do a hard reset!

Then I downloaded WinDiff. Again opened two files about the same size,
again the damn thing hung. No response at all. Had to do a hard reset.

Any idea why this could be happening? Is there something about the diff
api that makes it so damn unstable? I am using Windows 2000 by the way
(with SP4).

Hello,
There is no such thing as diff api, each programs use it's own code. So
if this thing always happens with given 2 files, but never with others,
something could be wrong with your disk. If you have same problem with
other files too, I would test memory as a first step.
