visual studio .net general: Hi All,

I'm sure this is easy, but it is evading me. I have had an MSDN
subscription for the past year or so. I am trying to get the VB and
ASP development environments going in VS 2005. I installed VS 2005
but it only came with the SQL Server 2005 projects (Analysis,
Integration and Reporting Services) modules. I have a ton of disks
from Microsoft, but I can't figure out which one will get me what I
need. I tried installing VB through service pack 1 but it is telling
me that I need something else installed.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What, exactly does the label on the DVD you used say?
If you downloaded VS 2005 and chose either the Standard Edition, or the
Professional Edition, you should have C++, C# and VB for both Windows and
web projects.

Is it possible that you installed VS 2005 Team Edition for Database
Professionals? If so, you need Standard Edition, Professional Edition or
Team Edition for Software Developers.

If you're sure you've installed Standard, Professional or TE for Software
Developers, try this:

Tools->Import and Export Settings... select Reset All Settings, then save or
don't save current settings (your choice), then choose General Developer
Settings as your Default Settings and click Finish. All available projects
for all languages should then be exposed.
