visual studio .net general : Quest: What/When is the next VS.NET version. Is it worth waiting for?..

I am now using VS.NET 2003 Pro and when I using VS.NET 2002 Pro and decided
to upgrade VS.NET 2005 was(or in a few months from then) found through
software order through local store but nonetheless went (for some reason)
with VS.NET 2003 Pro. I don't think the VS.NET 2003 Pro was really was worth
it cause I knew about .NET Framework 2.0 and wanted to have access to it but
found only .NET Framework 1.1 is accessible in VS.NET 2003...

But moving on to the present and future... I am looking for what/when is the
next VS.NET version(even pass VS.NET 2005 Pro). Is a new version like VS.NET
2007/2008 coming soon enough that moving to VS.NET 2005 Pro is not worth the
$$$ or is a newer version just to far off and go ahead and spend the $$$ for
VS.NET 2005 Pro. As for what is to be present in the IDE...

1) I don't know anything much about .NET Framework 3.0 but I have WinVista
Ultimate in mind or else .NET Framework 2.0 is just fine for now.

2) I would like some code diagramming that I think is in VS.NET 2005 Pro but
new version may be more improved.

Note: Now I am only using XP Pro SP2 and am waiting on WinVista Ultimate
until I do upgrade to VS.NET 200# Pro just so system is down once not
twice...

Any help?

The next VS, codename Orcas is in Beta 1 and targeted for release by year's
end.
There interesting new features (Linq, etc.) and an emphasis on quality
improvement.
Best of all, the Beta 1 is publicly available for download.

Enjoy!

OK, then read about it here, and decide if it's "worth waiting for":
