I'm a version 6 developer. VS6, VB6 and classic ASP. I
want to start transitioning to .NET. I wanted to know if
there are any issues with upgrading from VS6 to VS.Net.
Either with the software, platform or being able to work on
existing classic ASP or VB6 apps. I'm running Win2K
Server, SQL Server 2K etc.

Thanx,

..NET is completely different, so it installs side-by-side instead of
"upgrading". You can edit ASP in VS.NET, but not VB 6, so don't uninstall VS
6 right now. Consider learning C# first, as you are more likely to try to
write VB6 in VB.NET and ASP in ASP.NET if you do not change syntax. After
you have your first few test apps down, and feel the paradigm shift, you can
switch back to VB.NET and you will be fine.
