I'd like to get my hands on a few hotfixes for known VS.Net problems, but I
don't want to have to burn one of our support cases just to get them. I'm
aware of issues 841767, 836612, 818776, 842706. These are pretty major
productivity killers, as we've run into them repeatedly. But I also have a
big problem wasting our valuable support cases on known VS.Net bugs.

Any help out there?

Hot fixes are free. You just call the MS Support phone of your country,
point them to the KB page with the article and request the hotfix. Quite
quick, I did it with other product some months ago. You don´t need a support
contract to request them.
