visual studio .net ide : Folder does not have write permission

I am trying to add files to a project but the IDE reports that the folder
doesn't have write permission.
This is not a new project so I guess someone changed the settings somewhere
and caused the problem. The permissions on the web server look correct and
my account is a Domain Admin login so I should be unrestricted but is
refuses to accept new files of any kind. I can edit and save.
Can anyone tell me what groups need to be permissioned for VS.Net to work
properly? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your post. As I understand, the problem you are facing is that
you cannot add new files to an existing Web Project. Please correct me if
there is any misunderstanding. I think more information is needed before
moving forward:

1. Where does the Web Server locate, local or remote?

2. Does the problem occurs to a specific project or to all the web project
on that web server? You can create a new ASP .NET web project to see if it
can reproduce the problem.

3. Can you access the folder of your project (like,
"\\webserver\wwwroot$\yourproject") and create a new file in Explorer?

4. Please make sure that your Domain Admin account is added to the local
Administrators group. Check the security of your project's folder and see
if Administrators group and VS Developers have enough privileges.

5. If the problem persists, could you please tell me the detailed error
message?

I am standing by for your response.

Have a nice day!
