visual studio .net setup: When installing .NET 2003 Ent. Developer on Win XP Prof
SP1a box with no other software installed as yet..

Pre-req cd installed OK and I had CD1 of VS.NET 2003 gave
this problem for writing to ..\.NET\VB7\ProjectItems\ as
well as other ..\NET\VB7\other dir. permissions errors.

Check the permissions on the drive you're installing to and verify that
both SYSTEM and Administrators have full control access. If that's all
set, find vsmsilog*.txt in %temp% and send it my way (just remove 'online'
from my displayed address).

Most respectfully, the account you installed with probably has no direct
effect on the end result. Did you check the permissions set on the drive
you're installing to as per my last message?
