visual studio .net setup: I have been using an academic trial version of Visual Studio .NET
2002. I am getting popup messages that I'm only entitled to use this
until Dec 31 2003. So I bought a full version, installed and
registered it without error. I am still getting the warning with the
same Dec 31 deadline.

Should I have uninstalled the trial version? How can I get my full
version working while protecting my existing projects? Thanks for any

Yes, you should have uninstalled the trial version before installing the
version you purchased.
Is the purchased package Visual Studio .NET 2002 or 2003?
If the purchased one is 2003, you may well have two complete installations
on your PC. Check in Add/Remove Programs and see if you have two instances
installed. If so, uninstall the one that does *not* say 2003.
If the purchased package is 2002,
IMHO, your only available course of action is to completely uninstall Visual
Studio .NET and start over. After running the uninstall, be sure to manually
delete (Install Drive)\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
Uninstalling should have no effect on your existing projects/solutions, as
they are each in their own folders where you put them, right? If not, find
them and move all the folders out from inside the Visual Studio folder
hierarchy.

Peter,
Thanks for the answer. It's all working fine now. There were 2
installed versions and I uninstalled the trial version. The purchased
version is also 2002 but I didn't have to reinstall it. The message
went away and the full version is working as expected. Again, thanks
