Hi,
Looks like you got an old version of MSDN. Please contact Microsoft Order
desk at (800) 360-7561 and they will help you with that.
Best regards,
Bradley Jiang

|I have subscribed to Enterprise version of MSDN on DVD
|discs. I intended to install it on Windows XP
|Professional computer. I have read the "Getting Started
|Guide." In the box with discs, I received about a week
|ago, I found a letter that said:
|
|"As a benefit of your MSDN subscription, this shipment
|includes the April 2003 MSDN Library."
|
|The disc was gray in color, and on the label it said:
|
| APRIL 2003
| msdn subscriptions L:brary
|
|This was the first disc from the top, so I put it into
|the first DVD drive (D:). It appeared in "My Computer" as
|disc QTR40ENUD1 (D:). It started the setup, as far as I
|remember automatically. I answered a couple of prompts.
|For example, it promted me to select between three
|options. I selected "Typical." Then it promted me whether
|I wanted the shortcut on my desktop. I said:
|
| Yes
|
|and it created the icon:
|
| msdn
| MSDN Library -
| October 2001
|
|When I doubleclick on that label it come with the first
|page that reads:
|
|"Welcome to the October 2001 release of the MSDN Library"
|
|What happened to April 2003 library? I read that that
|library is available online under:
|
|
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ |
|When I enter that address, a completely different online
|library is displayed. Unfortunately it is just entitled:
|
| Welcome to the MSDN Library
|
|There is no month. For example, that library contains the
|articles like:
|
|"Developing .NET Smart Clients for Microsoft Office XP
|Simon Guest and Siew-Moi Khor
|Microsoft Corporation
|
|December 2002"
|
|There are no such articles in the library that I
|installed automatically.
|
|According to that letter, I seem to have automatically
|installed October 2001 Library. The Windows XP
|Professional computer is brand new. I never had or
|installed any other DVD discs than the ones I just
|received.
|
|The DVD discs arrived from:
|
| msdn, Microsoft Developer Network
| 1640 Berryessa Road
| Suite A
| San Jose, CA 95133
|
|
|How do I get rid of the old October Library and install
|the new April 2003 Library. The letter said:
|
|"MSDN Library, April 2003
|During setup you may see the message, "Setup has detected
|that the MSDN name space is configured for use with
|Visual Studio .NET. Would you like to replace it with the
|MSDN Library - April 2003?"
|
|As I said, that was the first disc, so nothing else was
|yet installed on my computer. I never saw this prompt
|above.
|
|I have not yet tried to install any other DVD discs from
|that shipment. Are the discs supposed to be installed in
|any particular order? If not, I do not understand how you
|can rely that, for example, Visual Studio .NET will
|always be already installed when that library disc is
|run? I tried to install the DVD discs in the sequence in
|which they came in the box, from top to the bottom.
