That is exactly what i am trying to do. It wants the two
items installed but when I click on the add/remove windows
components I get the error message " setup was unable to
load the master information file ". That is the problem I
can't install the two components it wants. What is this
master information file it is looking for?

Hi,

Is the dialog that you see saying that you need to install IIS and
Front Page Server Extension? Do you want to do Web development? If yes, you
need to install IIS before installing any prerequisite, specially .NET
Framework. IIS is part of the OS, and it can be installed from "Add/Remove
Windows Components", on Add/Remove Programs. After you installed them,
restart the VS setup.
If you do not want to do web development, then you can just Skip that
dialog, which has only informational value, and continue with the
prerequisits setup and then VS setup.

The error you are getting is not related to VS Setup. There is a KB
article (Q315324) that is refering to a similar error like this. Please
ckeck if it applies to your case.

Thanks,

Did you insert your operating system CD in the CD drive? the master info
file mentioned in dialog box is %windir%\sysoc.inf. please verify that this
file is there and is not corrupted.
