The user account is created for security purposes, so that the ASP .NET
worker process does not have any administrative rights on your system. As
far as I know, having this account on your machine allows you to run ASP
.NET webservices through IIS (which you don't have installed). I don't
know the ramifications of removing the account. However, to get around
having to select your account at startup, you can install the XP TweakUI
Powertoy at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp TweakUI provides a setting in "Logon -> Autologon" for you to specify an
autologon account.
Hope this helps,
Steve Donahue
