visual studio .net setup : Uninstall Vs.Net Academic problem

Hi all,

I've installed my VS.NET (VS.NET Academic) successfully,
but when it comes to uninstall the program, it has
problems:

<from setup log>
===============
setup.exe: [2] Unable to query for the
g_szRegvalSuiteLocation value in
CSetupManager::RemoveSetupFiles()

setup.exe: [2] CSetupManager::RemoveSetupFiles() failed
in CSetupManager::RunInstall()
===============

the setup program said that my uninstallation is SUCCESS,
but when I tried to install VS.NET again, it said that
uninstallation is not complete, and comes an OK button to
uninstall again... I do it again, and again..and again...
still the same, it said "complete uninstall" but the fact
it is not, and right now I unable to install vs.NET again

does anyone has this experience before?

Hi,
Try the following steps and see if it works:
1. Start > Run and type regedit and then click Ok
2. Navigate to the below regkey
3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MICROSOFT
INTEGRATION
4. After expanding this key, you will notice a
series of classid guids. Highlight
each one and look at the property on the right hand side
called SuiteName. We are
looking for one that contains "Microsoft Visual
Studio.Net". If you find a key
with the SuiteName property = Microsoft Visual
Studio.Net, then delete the key.
5. Close the registry and attempt the install

You may want to delete the folder too, not just the key.

Best Regards
Nick

Hi Nick!!
thank you for your last reply,
but... the thing is I've tried to delete ALL Visual
Studio.NET key / value in registry by using keyword:

"studio .net"
"visual studio"
"vsa\"
"microsoft.net"

so at the moment I couldn't find key "SuiteName" or even
keyword contains "Microsoft Visual Studio.Net"

perhaps I deleted them already :)

but right now I've found Key "SuiteID" which contains
something like this => 490D3C64-A846-4bcf-A22E-xxxxxx

and I tried to search that key through my hard drive
(find a directory), but couldn't found any single one

Should I delete that "SuiteID" key? or should I just
delete the whole "Microsoft Integration" directory in
registry?

thank you so much
'Jo
