.NET 2003 Pro repair/uninstall/install

All was working (vb.net) prior to Norton's Antivirus and
Internet Security. Now small apps do not run. Shut
Norton down, still new or existing apps won't run.
Tried to repair .NET ... error, tried to uninstall...
error, deleted MS .NET folder and tried to install ...

I have installed Visual Studio.Net Pro and I can't find
an instance of MSDE (Desktop engine) anywhere. I tried
looking in Administration - Services like it says in the
help files, but it is not listed. I tried to reinstall

I purchased VB .Net 2003 and installed it.
Then I purchased Crystal Reports 9.0 and installed it.
When Visual Basic opens I expect to see Crystal Reports as an installed
component, but I don't. Also, I don't see Crystal Reports controls etc.

I have used visual studio.net in the past and had no
problems on my laptop. I have recently installed VS.net
onto my laptop again, now though when I attempt to create
a web project on my localhost, the program locks up and

I saw a spot on Microsoft's site that has the 60-day trial
version of Visual Studio .NET a while back and can no
longer find it. Am I just missing it, or is it no longer

Server but the installer told me that my framework was to
old and I should deinstall it
Any idea to work around. The framework is a component of
the W3K server and can't be deinstalled..
