visual studio .net setup:
[quoted text, click to view]
The Visual Studio .NET 2003 key issue seems to confuse quite a few people.
Here's the deal:
Visual Studio .NET 2003 from MSDN comes with the installation key embedded
in the product. There is no need to enter a key.
The Visual Studio .NET key listed on "Products that do not require
activation" is the installation key for Visual Studio .NET *2002*. The folks
who run into trouble are those who somehow force this key into a 2003
install.
If you installed Visual Studio .NET 2003 using the embedded key, you should
be fine.
Hope this helps.

I do not have an actual problem, but i do appreciate some
clarification to be sure i will not have any problem in the future.

I have installed Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional from the MSDN
disk 2431.3 on a Windows 2000 SP4 system

I am pretty confused about the product key. the card i received with
the MSDN binder and the default.htm on the disk both list it, but
during the installation i found there is already one (totally
different) written in the form, and it is grayed so i am unable to
change it the correct one... nonetheless the installation worked fine
and apparently all is ok. it is really all ok ?

In case it has any relevance i have also an old VC++ 6.0 Pro installed
on the same system.
