Last year I installed a copy of VS.NET trial, which ran out some time ago.
MSDN Universal is now being purchased, but there may be some delay before
this arrives (awaiting the "powers that be" to sign things off). However, I
have a second copy of VS.NET 60 day trial. Is it possible to install a
second copy of the trial (after uninstalling the first), or can a single PC
only ever have one copy of the trial successfully installed ?

You should be able to install the second copy... just make sure you use the
CD key from the 2nd copy.
